WINE TOURISM

The vine, perhaps the most prominent symbol of the Mediterranean culture, is also one of the values that identify the Costa Daurada, both for the extensive area of the territory covered by vineyards and for the uniqueness of its products. With six Dos ( denominaciones de origen or designations of origin) for wine and a large part of its territory included in the designation of origin for cava, the Costa Daurada has an outstanding veriety of vineyard scenery.

The almost centenarian vines on the hillsides and terraces of the Priorat and the Serra del Montsant make up an austere landscape that contrasts sharply with the plains of the Camp de Tarragona and the Penedès region. The more mountainous terrain of the Terra Alta and part of the Conca de Barberà add even further diversity to the variety of possible landscapes. It is an agricultural mosaic shared with other traditional Mediterranean crops such as olives, cereals, almonds, and hazelnuts.
