Overall, 6 appellations of origin embrace the still and sparkling wines made within Costa Daurada, the wine territory in the country with the highest number of DO’s. Want to join us to discover them and taste these unique landscapes?

Penedès

Near the historical Selma castle, DO Penedès vineyards cover a landscape that was educated during the Middle Ages. Follow these unique paths flanked by vines and discover villages such as the Modernist L’Arboç or Banyeres del Penedès, which is home to a watchtower that is prove of its thousand-year-old past.

Have you ever heard of the Via Augusta of DO Penedès? It’s 70km long and will take you near landscapes where warm white wines become the best trademark to live and enjoy the guided tours offered by the existing wineries, some with incredible sea views.

Surely, a TOP plan that will allow you to try wines with over 2.000 years of history!

Conca de Barberà

Inland of the Poblet Monastery, a World Heritage Site, you can visit the old winery once owned by monks, where they would historically produce wine for the actual community. Now though, wine is no longer produced in the monastery. Despite this, as you arrive at this monumental ensemble, you’ll see an ocean of vineyards around it. Enjoy it, breath the peaceful atmosphere and try the wines wineries in this area of Conca de Barberà offer during their guided tours.

This appellation of origin does also preserve a route of Modernist wineries located in L’Espluga de Francolí, Montblanc, Sarral, Rocafort de Queralt and Barberà de la Conca. Visit them and discover the wines made using a local grape variety: Trepat. We’re pretty sure you’ll be shocked by them!

Tarragona

The essence of the Mediterranean is carried by DO Tarragona wines. Did you know Romans imported them into the capital of the Empire? They did, and from then on, wines made within DO Tarragona are unique, fresh and packed with aromas that will take you to the landscapes caressed by the sea breeze.

Try them in unique areas such as Alt Camp, thanks to Nulles’ Modernist winery; next to the Sanctuary of Montferri, or in Tarragonès, with vineyards near the coastline in Salomó or Vila-seca La Pineda Platja. And, in Baix Camp, stop by Alforja, right in the heart of the Costa Daurada Mountains.

Montsant

As you arrive in Falset, fields full of olive trees and vines surround the capital town of Priorat, where wine is the actual essence of the area’s agricultural activity. Discover DO Montsant wines ─the youngest DO of them all─. Within this appellation, you’ll find Modernist wineries such as the ones in Falset or Cornudella de Montsant, but you can also enjoy and experience wine activities offered by the existing wineries, where high-quality wines are produced.

The viewpoint of Mas Serraller, the Serra de les Gritelles or the northern area of Serra del Montsant are unique places where you can enjoy and try DO Montsant wines.

Priorat

DOQ Priorat’s wine paths are historical and sinuous, and allow you to surround the vineyards and discover really small villages, where a lot of worldwide-known wineries are located in order to produce wines made using both Carignan and Grenache varieties, the essence of a simply stunning landscape. From the viewpoint of Torroja, admire vines on an almost idyllic scenery; you can also do this from the hermitage of Sant Antoni, with Porrera below your feet.

The heart of DOQ Priorat beats at the historical Cartoixa d’Escaladei, a treasure that is slowly bringing back its old splendour. Have you ever been there?

Cava

If you’re keen on sparkling wines, Costa Daurada is your destination as well. In areas such as Conca de Barberà, Tarragonès, Alt Camp, Baix Camp and Baix Penedès, you’ll find various wineries producing cava with its own character. Don’t forget to try rosé cava, which is made using the Trepat variety in Conca de Barberà. Have you ever heard of them?
